Angry Birds RC

Pilot Scott

FLY LOW
With a little imagination, some 9mm Depron, 9mm EPP, few cans of paint, some electronics from a crashed Sukhoi and a few evenings, the Angry Birds RC plane was born. I have is scanned but not CAD yet so I'll have plans up soon if anyone is interested.

Cannot wait for the maiden flight and see how it flies! Looks awesome, this will get plenty of attention in the air!

Nice!

Well done. Love it.

Plans would be appreciated.

Now just have to hook it up with an app for the iphone/Ipad and it can be 3d Angry Birds...

Very creative indeed. I'm gonna try and make the Yellow Angry Bird for my son who loves Angry Birds. I don't want to copy your model and gonna try something different but based on the same concept. I'm thinking of using the pink foam board, 30amp Eflite ESC, 3S 1000mah battery, 480 or .15 brushless motor with a 9 or 10" prop, AR600 Spektrum reciever and Parkzone 1081 servos. This will be my first attempt to scratch and build and will give it a go soon as I have all the equipment on hand already. I got bored tonight at work and made a small prototype out of cardboard. I'm thinking about a 30" triangle. What do you think? Will this work?

Update #2 on the Yellow Angry Bird. Motor and servos mounted. Elevons and Rudder operational. Next, mount the ESC and Receiver. Then balance with the battery. Maiden flight here we come.

Update #3 on the Yellow Angry Bird. Mounted the ESC and Receiver and balanced with the battery 1/3 of wing. Maiden flight = Short lived straignt into the ground. I'm not sure what went wrong. It was kind of windy and I attempted to get it flying 3 times and every time it pulled to the right. Maybe my control surfaces weren't large enough or 1/3 of the wing was not a correct place to balance this triangle. Its dead!

(After flight cracked in numerous places)

Awww... Crap. Maybe try balancing it with the CG further back, and fly it like a helicopter type thing?
