ComQuest Ventures LLC is proud to announce the Vertex VTOL UAV: a practical Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for enthusiasts and professionals.
The Vertex UAV is a hybrid between a quadcopter and an airplane, able to take off vertically like a multicopter and transition to efficient and fast forward flight like an airplane. The Vertex was carefully engineered to capture the best flight characteristics of a quadcopter and an airplane and merge them into a practical, high-performance aircraft. The Vertex is in the final design and development stages before the crowdfunding campaign on February 2015. We are very excited to introduce it to the UAV community, and to get everybody's input. The Vertex UAV is a hybrid between a quadcopter and an airplane, able to take off vertically like a multicopter and transition to efficient and fast forward flight like an airplane. The Vertex was carefully engineered to capture the best flight characteristics of a quadcopter and an airplane and merge them into a practical, high-performance aircraft. Here are some of the main features:
- Versatility: The Vertex can fly stably at any transition angle, meaning that it can take off vertically from almost anywhere, fly low and slow in small spaces or fast and aggressively in larger fields.
- Performance: Achieve hover flight times of more than 15 minutes, or forward flight times of around 35 minutes with a single battery. Capable of carrying 400 grams of payload.
- Usability: The Vertex is designed to be practical. It is easily dismountable for transportation, repair or replacement of parts. The original packaging doubles as a handy transportation box. It comes fully assembled and requires minimal setup time and no tuning. It also operates with popular flight controllers.
- Excellent aerial filming and FPV platform: Easily attach a GoPro with brushless gimbal and an FPV system to the Vertex. Benefit from its flight versatility to take unique and exciting aerial videos.
