Have done it this way for years in certain instances. Small plastic straws also work great.

Cool, if I ever get a second telemetry reciever I will probably wait to see if Spectrum comes out with and antenna-less one. Nice though never heard of it before.

Whereas I appreciate and agree with what he attempts to achieve, placing the two antennas 90degrees to each other, isn't the antenna on the long lead of the 636 receiver actually at the end, after the sleeve (heatshrink?)? If so, It is that portion of the long lead that needs to be ar a right angle to the "short" antenna. To take his recommendation farther, better, consistant receiver RF coverage is obtained by orthogonally postioning the antennas.
