Anybody else scratch building tonight?

I've got a question for the group - more of a personal preference of all. I'm enjoying building, and I'm again enjoining developing plans. I've now built "Master Series" by FliteTest and ones by @Niez13 and am getting more familiar with both build methods. My first MS design is like @Niez13 / 13th Squadron designs - box support fuselage with formers and regular intervals, outer skin gets built and slid into place, some get wrapped and glued in place. Then there's the FT way, and this question is based on something Josh said in the latest video - making the MS designs easier to build by making one section of fuselage at a time and simply assembling the pieces (no primary 'spine' so to speak)

So the Q - does anyone have an opinion on each design style (oh heck - I just asked for opinions!!!! tiem to run and hide!) - pros, cons, etc? I haven't built that many, just wondering if a lot of parts will scare people away from building!

i think, that without a "primary spine" it easyer get destroyed at skin connections... all chrash gets into hole fuselage, not just the front. the"spine" secure the planes rigidity. Ive tried... and when only just the last skin connection before tail was ok after , then.....

Box style is easyer to build, "master-style" looks better.

Quick question, is the little lead just battery voltage for the Rx?

The storch is fully complete! Maiden attempt was made, but with a plane this size and weight the 15mph winds were just way too much, as soon as I set it down it came off the ground and started flying backwards :LOL:. Upon seeing that I didn’t even try to take off. Flying weight (battery included) is only 28 ounces :eek:, this thing is light.

Glued on all of the formers and poster board for the mm corsair, and now only the powerpod, canopy and cowling are left. Canopy and cowling, Ill finish today, but the powerpod ill leave for when the electronics arrive.
Then its time for a tiny trainer!

Just an FYI for anyone that uses Inkscape to do their designs. I discovered something cool today that might help get my fuselage covering parts to be nice and accurate when they meet. If you split the path of the covering part, you can measure the length of curved line. That way, you can be sure that both mating parts are the exact same 'circumference' so to speak and you don;t end up with a lip where they meet because one was tiny bit smaller. :p

From the Inkscape top menu...... Extensions --- Visualize --- Measure Path

I have a lot of older batteries that get downgraded to use in low draw applications for exacly that reason. Could be part of the problem.

Nope, I haven't had those issues.
now i feel like a newb....... my batteries c rating was to low.
it could only supply 30 amps...... but i needed 36 amps............
i just ran it on a 3s 2250mah with 35C.... man i sounds sweet
