Anybody else scratch building tonight?

Got some progress on the master mini p38. I built the tail booms and vertical stabilizer, I wasnt happy with how fat the vertical stab turned out following the plans so I redid it.
20220506_073759.jpg peeled back the paper, rounded the leading edge and hotglue/laminated the paper back down. It's still pretty chunky at this scale but at least its leading edge isnt a flat brick anymore. 20220506_162900.jpg 20220506_162910.jpg
Booms rolled nicely. The exit hole is a bit small for the boom spars to slide through, I'll have to open it up and shape the spar to fit better.

90% of it is cut and prepped, also got all the servos mounted.
It's only going to be 4 channel so I had to decide between flaperons or differential thrust. I flip flopped for a bit and ended up deciding on differential.

It will be running the same 1207 5000kv motors as the 48cm glider its pictured with. Likely double the weight though, haha.
Does anyone know if there were any 3d print files available somewhere for the accessories on this plane like the super charger and the cowling, and cooler vents? I seem to remember some of it being 3d printed on one version. I'm tired of cutting out stuff and want to put the new printer to work.
Edit: found it

I’m not going to say this is cute but this is actually really really awesome I don’t think I could do it I’m not that good with foam board but you did amazing!
Thanks, its not perfect, theres some wrinkles and Imperfections.
It came out to 212 grams dry. 245 with battery and I'm going to add a toonie to the nose for the first few flights so 252g, it's a bit chunky. It puts the wing cube loading at 14.5 well into the "warbird" category haha. Full steam ahead!

Well folks The beast of a motor that I ordered finally came and I'm getting the FT Spitfire ready to fly. I was going to go with a 2217 1250kv but I couldn't fit it with a big spinner the shaft was way too short so I ordered this 3536 1200kv and mounted it too the power pod. I also did some painting after giving it a coat of Minmax

oil based urethane. I changed my mind and ditched the camo Idea and I'm keeping to a simpler paint scheme have to hit the craft store for adhesive film so I can make the rondels etc.

That actually looks pretty good. U may have a great lazy day flyer there. Cubs do so well in the air but can suck getting it off the ground. @ least this one should make for a smooth transition during the take off.
Yep, it’s just a 3ch too. Built to be my go to places fly good plane. Might have to size up the rudder but hoping for a pleasant surprise.
