Just finished off the final stages of setting up my Bushwacker rebuild. I managed to use the tail section and last third of the fuselage from the Mk1. However. Although I did end up having to build a complete new wing too, the damage to the wing was minor and repairable, but 2 servos where damaged (stripped nylon gears). So I built a new wing and replaced all 4 servos with metal gear Tower pro's. The original Bushwacker had a slight dihedral, which helped improve stability. This time I built the wing flat to see what difference it makes.
I also re-built a front two thirds of the fuselage and new power pod assembly. I have stuck with the same Volantex 4023 1060kv motor but replaced the Spektrum AR620 with an FRsky X8R receiver.
Its been a while since Ive done any building it been mostly repairs and upgrades, this has been a good experience. I decided to stick with the same colours but altered the scheme slightly so it didn't mimic the mk1 too much.
I've just finished swapping the model setup from my Radiomaster over to my Taranis transmitter. All I need to do now is re-bind the receiver to my Taranis, set up the telemetry, add the RSSI to the transmitter screen and complete a range check.
I should be able to taker it out this week for a maiden flight assuming the weather improves.
