FINALLY got around to working on my 64mm L37. Got it mostly painted. I'll do detail work after it flies. This and my flerken-stein have been sitting on my project rack for a couple months now. Figured I'd knock this one outta the way before I finish my custom build (flerkin with a cartoon P40 body)
L39 actually I think?

Started another Slow Flyer tonight. The last one had some build induced issues, though it flies pretty good after figuring out what I did wrong. I'm forcing myself to take it slow and get everything as perfect as possible with this one. I have a tendency to rush and make stupid mistakes.

Out of Foam Board!
note to self, don’t use cheap no brand servos on a plane with massive control surfaces.

Until it crashed it was flying great. I switched to a 2200 3s for extra nose weight. It even cobra’d pretty easily. The elevon jammed during a split S, so the spiral was unrecoverable.

Were you using the 9g blue amazon servos?

Bronco 2 is pretty much done, still working the booms to a shape I like, but had to take advantage of the weather to get a coat of clear on the wing and fuse. Tried a new clear coat this time around, really like how it worked. I will let this sit for a day before doing anything else. Here is what I used for the clear coat brushed on thin with a 1.5 inch fine bristle brush.

And here is the result. Should look smooth as glass after second coat.

That's impressive! Had you been using spray on for your final coat before this one?

Finished the Slow Flyer, Take 2. I made a couple minor changes. I added more reinforcement to nose doublers, a printed power pod, printed skewer reinforcement, slightly improved the hatch and just made darn sure the wing was as true as possible. Everything came together nicely. I'll Minwax it tomorrow and I might even play with my new airbrush set up and paint it before the maiden.

Hubris???

Oooooh, shiny! Looks like balsa. Love watching the progression of an aircraft.
