Avion Rapide plans was found on a copied bookpage that was dated March 1936, it was the time when the first radio systems came up in the second half of the 1930s First successful flights were undertaken in Great Britain and Germany.
There are rumors or speculation that the
Avion Rapide was made by Maurice Lartigue to carry postage on a French island.
The wish came up to rebuild this plane by the plans, by finder Matthias Moeller, with some changes who were made to recreate an Avion that will fly perfectly. The wingprofile changed to a laminar profile, a minor changed form of the rudder, and wingforms slightly optimized, in intension to keep the complete original character.
,… Some flightvideo of the Mattias´s "refined" build:
Ive built it by foamboards, and a minor use of plywood, strengthen by carbontubes in body and wings. Wingspan: 1800mm,
Length: 1550mm .
