Well nuts.... Bought a new "PNP" AR Wing Classic 900mm for $75, and it has all the parts to be a PNP, but NOTHING is trimmed or assembled. LOL 🙃 I will be removing all the mold worms, trimming all the edges before getting the Foam-Tac out and assembling all the pieces parts, turning it into a PNP. Basically a KIT rather than PNP but with all the eletronics except the RX. Has plywood inserts to be glued at all the wing interfaces (body, winglets, motor, FPV, FC, Battery, Action Cam, etc....) and carbon reinforcements, so a 10 minute assembly is going to take hours. ⏰ will be an INAV Walksnail HD FPV bird when done.

LB

All the ply has been glued as well as the 2 fuse halves

Hahaha I just maidened mine today... I bought it a couple of years ago but it's been sitting since I've been so busy. I was a little peeved at "PnP" as well considering how much work there was to be done, but it wasn't too bad.

Don't even bother with the decals, they're absolute trash  Mine has a Speedybee Wing APP FC running Inav and it works well. You'll like it.

I also maidened my scratch built 80" box-scale C-130...ish today, along with 7 other planes. All were successful, shockingly enough.

What I have found with the SonicModel decals over the years is that the surface must be prepped first. There are nubs that stick up which make air bubbles if you don't trim them flush, and a good wipedown with Isopropryl Alccohol makes sure there is nothing on the surface to impede adhesion.

Mine didn't want to stick at all, all of them had almost completely peeled off after sitting for a day. I got rid of them entirely, it's FPV so I don't have to look at it lol.

I'll try the alcohol though if I end up with another plane from them.

If you have a fresh blade, they pop off really easy like grains of sand.

I used to be FPV only. I do LOS with most planes now too.

I do a little bit of everything and every type. Life's too short to get stuck in a rut, lately I've been into 3D printed speed planes 😁

I was never much of a builder but foamboard changed that in the early 2010s. I have a backlog of about 20 box-scale planes I want to do now.

Don't get me started on my backlog.... LOL. I thought this was a PNP and wouldn't take any time. I could have finished a few 90% done builds in the time I have into it. 🤣 But this is now pretty much done and actually may be going to my buddy.
