The canopy looks great and i got my eye on that traxxas slash in the background too, i used to race my traxxas bandit some but wasnt very good so i started building planes.

Hi all! I would like to share the construction of my first model Mustang R51 master series. I ordered a sunsky 2216 3 series 1250 kv engine, propellers 9 * 6 and 10 * 5, esc 40A and a battery for 2200 3S. I would like to know your opinion about the setting. Currently, after painting, the weight of the model without engine and battery is 465 grams.

Scratch built a dr1
Still need to do the hinges and linkages. But she will be ready to maiden soon. Then a final weathering paint pass and guns.

I put a couple Mini Scouts together tonight for me and my grandson. This will be his first 3 channel "real" plane. His Christmas present will be the white/white Mini Scout and a FSi6X radio. He's been flying the FT EZ Freighter and he loves it. Hopefully this keeps him learning and interested in flying. He hasn't shown much interest in building, but I enjoy building enough to keep us both crashi... er, flying!

Great story. Your builds look amazing, he is going to love it. I hope your Christmas wish comes true and this is the beginning of some very special memories.

Very nicely done. You talk like you're new but you build like you've been doing it for five years already! The set up seems all about right. The weight is looking good for a plane of what I guess that size to be and a 1250kv motor should just about manage a 9x6 - I would throttle it up on the test bench and see how warm the motor gets; too hot to touch for more than a second is too hot to run. If it does get too hot, the cheaper option is a smaller prop, but I like big props so I would get a 1000kv motor - your 40A ESC is ideal for that. :)

My partner and I purchased shelves! Which means we could tidy up the spare room and unpack boxes, which means I have a workshop again!

Access is a bit cramped at the moment; it may be serving more as a repair station until the rest of the room clears up.

I came across so many parts when going through boxes, I forgot just how many planes I can potentially build and realised something: I haven't built anything in ages 'cause I have all these larger designs in the queue, that are all intended to have their plans released and they just demand a lot more work. I could just be doing what I did with the HalfPipe and BipePipe and be throwing planes together with a ruler, making some actual use of all the bits I have! Think I might get to doing that soon. I'm getting bored of flying the same four planes over and over now.

Thank you. Once upon a time I was engaged in cord planes, but these were primitive planes. However, he still acquired construction skills. I decided to try radio-controlled aircraft.

How is the Rutan coming along? I thought I recall some question on the CG, maybe confused with another. Anyway, stumbled across another model of a racer version. CG shown if needed. I wouldn't mind making a Foam Board version. thathttp://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=11273
The Quickie is almost complete , other things going on. Nice set of plans , yep CG is about same on mine. Really like that set of plans you have.

Looks like this bird will fly again this weekend. And I hope it will be enough thrust of its old engine to keep it in the air despite of increased weight. In other case I’ll have to replace its original engine and switch to 3S battery.
