I’ve actually been experimenting with solderless FCs recently, and honestly, they’re better than I expected. The main concern I had was whether the connectors would loosen mid-flight, but so far they’ve held up fine, even with some rough landings.
One I tried was the BotWing F405 Flight Controller — it’s designed with a solderless setup and was surprisingly beginner-friendly. The install was quick, and I didn’t need to rework any joints when I swapped out components. For me, that alone was a big plus.
The only trade-off I noticed is that you still need to be careful with cable management, since too much pull on the connectors could cause issues. But for people who hate soldering or just want to prototype faster, it’s worth considering.
