APM 2.6 with GPS and Compass

I would like to know has anyone used the APM 2.6 in a V Tail copter successfully. I just called 3D Robotics to inquire on some of the features and tech support said that they do not support the V Tail configuration. They said I may try to set it up as a quad but they don't think it would work. If anyone has I would be greatful for a copy of your settings to get started.
If you can customize the throttle/pitch/roll/yaw for each channel like on a KK2, take the yaw out of the front motors and add in 50% power to the yaw input on the rear motors. Will take tinkering to get the values scaled desirable, but in short that is how the KK2 sorts it out.
