Are there regular flying meets at Edgewater?

A while ago I thought I heard that there's a meet at Edgewater every Thursday. I didn't see this on the Edgewater site. Is it still a thing?

I also recall something about weekly flying at Edgewater. That was a long time ago. I have no idea if that is still going on.

Hi Guys,

To let you guys know, that there is meeting up on Thursday nights. Josh likes to teach people that are new to the hobby to fly on Thursdays. If you are interested in flying and don't have a plane, Thursday nights are perfect. Josh will get you up in the air. :) The reason that I know this, is because I go every Thursday to hang out and try to fly. 😅 All are welcomed.

Where would you be coming from ?

I would love to hang at a spot like this on Thursdays. It's about a 10 hour drive. The town I'm in is so aviation challenged I can't get 3 people together to start a club.

I'm in a similar situation. When I learned to fly there were 6-5 of us, then people got old & quit, others moved away. All of a sudden I was flying by my self for 7-8 years. Then I stumbled on another, then another, now if we all showed up there would be 10 or more. This year has been tough on the "club", there have been 2 of us regulars and every once in a while someone else shows up. This year, life has just gotten in the way, for some jobs, some moving, some youth coaching, for some heath. I would hardly call us a club. We are more like a group who enjoys each others company. No dues, no officers, no rules, we just love to fly.

Flying with others is more fun than flying alone.

That does sound like the best way. A crew with some planes, and without a clubs structure. Maybe in time that will happen here too.
