Aura 5 issues?

I have 2 aura 5's that i cannot get working with s.bus nor can i get 6 axis to work in the configurator. I thought i read somewhere that early versions did not support s.bus nor 6 axis for takeoff assist. How can i verify this? My boards have the numbers "2016" written on them and firmware ver 1.14/ bootloader version 2.1/ with a config file of 1.1. i attempted to do the updates on the firmware and the bootloader but my configurator keeps telling me that it cannot connect to the internet,, all my permissions seem to be in order, win 11 home. anyone have any ideas as i'd hate to throw these in the trash as i only use Expresslrs?

I can assure you they work with ELRS/SBUS. I was one of the first people to get one when they were released and have run just about every option with it. I currently have the latest firmware on it with all the latest features. I have a few and have run them with Spektrum/DSMX, FrSky/SBUS, and ELRS/SBUS. The first thing you need to do is figure out why you can't upgrade the firmware from W11. Figure out the internet issue and get the latest firmware on them, and then we will continue on.

Just got the firmware issue figured out! Can't run ipv6. soon as i disabled that It downloaded fine and is almost ready too go just need to get the mode switch working correctly and I'm good. They really did not make these very user friendly! If it weren't for the Launch assist i'd stay with my eagle gyro's. Thanks for your support, it kept me grinding.

Launch assist is done with the sricks not with a flight mode

Yes sir i understand that. what i meant to say was the only reason im using the aura is the launch assist. and that i am still trying to get my gyro modes setup like i want them with 3 positions, The switch up as gyro off, the center as gyro on and the down as acro mode

Ah, OK. The latest FT firmware has the autoleveling mode off by default. They are aware of it and are going to work with Flex Innovations to fix that going forward. I have also brought that to Flex's attention. There are several ways to enable autoleveling in the center switch position like in the past.

The three modes in the past were:
Manual - No gyro or leveling
Autolevel- (6 axis) Leveling and gyro stabilization
Gyro - (3 axis) Gyro stabilization.

If you look at the latest quick start guide, there is a way to do it by holding the plane in a nose down attitude after plugging in.

By default the three position switch for flight mode needs to be on RC channel 5. This can be remapped with the configurator.

I am guessing, that since you are using ELRS, you will need me to look that up.... Give me a few to get my laptop up. ELRS TX channel 5 is two positions only for arming and will not work for a three position switch.

(FYI, their documentation is wrong. The Accelerometer is switched on and off, not the gyro.)

Flight mode channel is configured on the first screen of the configurator. If you are using ELRS, use any channel other than 5. It's a limitation of ELRS needing an arming channel to enable all features when the model is armed. I usually put my throttle cut on channel 5 so the throttle is inactive when ELRS is not "armed". Flight mode gets bumped up to channel 6. I do the same thing whether it is a PWM reciever, Ardupilot, INAV, etc...

I should be able to remap channel 5 in the elrs receiver to act as a full function servo or maybe a 3 pos switch. I'll play with that some here in a bit. Thank you for helping me out

The combination of an ELRS PWM RX adds another level of flexibility with the ability to remap the PWM outputs to different channels. Nice to be able to use 5+ the PWM channels of the RX for control of added model features!

Happy New Year!
