Autotune with 6-channel transmitter and PPM

Hi!
I have a spektrum DX6i transmitter and I'm connecting to my Mini APM through PPM (CPPM).
As I want to autotune my craft I need to use channel 7 or channel 8 for setting the "autotune mode".

My problem is I don't have a channel 7, I only have 6 channels. How can I remap channel 6 to channel 7?
Or can I some how make channel 6 act as channel 7?

Hi mosbror.

The closest thing I could find for you is this proposed modification to the APM firmware. It is still an open request, but perhaps a future update will include it. Until then, I see three ways you could still use autotune.

1. Different Radio set: Borrow a friend's transmitter/receiver setup that has PWM output that you could set channel 7. Once you've completed autotune, swap back to your own transmitter.
2. PPM to PWM decoder: That way you can convert the PPM channel 6 to PWM channel 6, and hardwire it to channel 7 on the APM.
3. Purchase a transmitter/receiver that can output more channels.

I know it's probably not the answer your looking for, but I hope it helps..

If you just poke around in the APM source code, I'm sure you can change which channel it's listening on for the autotune command
