Ok, looks like the Fokker D vii is a success.

IMG_1996.JPG

I am going to make a few refinements to the plans. The next version will have the tapered nose and a little down thrust. Once that next version is flying right, I will release the plans.

Then, next will be the Nieuport 17.

Dawn patrol is looking interesting!

Pat, she has not flown since just after the very first Flite Fest. I'm just into bigger planes and I don't have a battery for her! Sadly, she has become a hangar queen.

That's fantastic! How long it take you to design and build to this point?

Here is the paint scheme I'd like for my Brit Rasterize...

Eddie Rickenbacker's SPAD XIII colors. :D

Well, that's the exact picture I posted a couple of days ago for my first choice. Since Sponz is the guy making all of this happen by way of plans, I certainly won't fight him for this one.

As a 2nd choice, Rasterize, if you could make this happen on a Baby Brit, I would appreciate it. I think the bottom of the wing should be solid red with the roundels - not sure if that is correct, but it will help me with orientation on this little guy. the mis-matched aileron is unnecessary.

Ohh man, now I feel like a schmuck! Sorry 97tj-neil, I'm not sure how I missed that. I will look for a different scheme, please take Rickenbacker's you called it first. It really is not a big deal to me. I want you to have it. Besides, Rasterize has already done my Baby Baron skin. I'm going to find a simple S.E.5a scheme for a Baby Brit.

So, I was trying to work on my Devastator last night when the hot glue gun died. So I cut out all the pieces I could then decided to do a bit of drawing before bed.

The allies seem a bit outnumbered so far. Got to get the Baby Brit some company. Couldn't resist coming up with a floatplane design that also carried rockets. You know, just in case a zeppelin shows up. If earthsciteach is bringing a barrage balloon, anything could happen.

Sponz, It is really not a big deal. Spend your time other places than looking for another design. You have earned the right to first choice. I like the Bristol M1 scheme I found.

LF, you should check out the matchstick rockets that KingofRandom has on his YouTube channel. They are just what you need for this plane, as long as you can figure out an ignition method.

97tj-neil and Sponz, while you guys work this out I will go ahead and do all 3: Rickenbacker, the Bristol M1 and an SE5.
Maybe I should post all the schemes requested thus far on the first post of this thread, for reference.

Haha. A friend showed those to me a while back. They're pretty darned awesome. Actually, when I was in high school I used to full on build fireworks. Firecrackers, smoke bombs, sparklers, mortars, even mixed up and made my own rocket engines. Chemical mixes to get the perfect shade of blue etc...

Sadly, with the current Media and Legislative environment, it's a really bad idea to combine that hobby with RC. I'd imagine there are ways to make display rockets and such work without pyrotechnics (CO2, talcum powder). I've had an idea floating around my brain for a while about a flying wing or Bloody Baron built around dual rubber band machine guns.

Actually, I think I'll start a thread on this subject in the Mad Scratchbuilders Forum. Maybe we can try and come up with some cool stuff for Flite Fest, and not clutter up the Graphics thread too much.

Thanks. I think that would be good. There may be others interested in these skins for builds outside of FliteFest.

I think that would be helpful. Additionally (and it could just be me) maybe officially flush out the whole concept with the plan, times, etc? I had to read through a good portion of the thread until I got all the info and maybe a consolidated plan at the front will keep us all on the same page. My $0.02.

I go over the skinning process in the second post of this thread here:

I think Rasterize may have written up some instructions for the mighty mini mustang skins as well.

Flushing has commenced...hmmm...probably could have worded that differently.

Hmmm. I thought for sure you'd go for this one. Also one of Bishops SE5's...just with more color.

Nope, going with the more popular (subdued) markings that the Brits used. They didn't get away with flying those bright colors for very long. The higher ups put an end to that pretty quickly. This image pretty much sums it up...
