Anytime guys! I am the lucky one getting to interact with you all on a regular basis!

BTW, looking to possibly use some of this content in(baby bugatti and the LARGER bugatti for a community showcase, BESIDES what is in the Build log on the forums threads... if you have any INTERESTING/inspirational info on your guys projects then please shoot me an email sometime today at stefan@flitetest.com

It is not CRUCIAL, but it is always great to have that little inside information from the ACTUAL creator for the episodes just in case!

Blessings guys,
Stefan

I like the top/bottom contrast of the white wing stripes - it keeps the spirit of the original finish while being functionally useful for an RC plane. If it still disappears in the sky for you, maybe a single black tape line in the middle of the white would help the contrast pop even more.

Good luck on the maiden! I'm hoping to get mine up in the air this weekend too! :)

Yes, but I also think this cartoon/racer shape could be great in more agressive colors.

I see you went with in-wing aileron servos ...which ones did you use?
Just generic 5gr/5$ 2 years old servos. Ailerons cut and servo install after the wing was inserted in place.

"Flies like Stink."

This is how Josh Orchard (willsonman) described the Baby Bugatti. I have to admit that I was disappointed to hear this until he explained that flying like stink is a good thing.

If this thing were ever to be offered in kit form, "Flies Like Stink" HAS to be printed on the packaging!

I flew my Baby Bugatti this morning and I approve this message :D
Ben, congrats, this (tiny) bird is well born.

My video doesn't do justice to this plane (the second battery flight was better, but the mobius cam batt died on me ). My ailerons throws are right between your min and max gauge, giving fast roll rate but still precise. As usual I put too much elevator as a start, my bad...
Even with the small rudder it tracks very well.
Good weather for tomorrow, more BB flights :D

Had my baby out at the field yesterday and the gusty conditions got the best of the baby. Stripped both servos and bashed in the nose a bit. Time to do a little makeover with the help of my fellow beta builders. ;)

I continued my 6 month trend of maiden crashes with the Banana Bugatti yesterday. :black_eyed:

Two contributing factors - maybe three I think.

1) I've got a 2206 up in the nose of this thing 'cause it's the motor I had on hand. So she's a might bit overpowered, and perhaps a little on the hefty side too. 1806 should be arriving this week.

2) I didn't realize the experience level of my helper and neglected to give clear instructions on the hand launch. I wanted something a little more like a javelin throw and instead got zero airspeed help on the launch.

3) I probably should have been holding left roll on launch just to counter act the expected torque roll from the overpowered motor. Oops.

But my helpers were very excited and had lots of questions about everything flying rc related. Very sharp and inquisitive father and son of about 8 or 9. I am pretty sure they are heading out to buy some E010's, an Inductrix FPV, coming to our next local club meeting, and should be jumping into the FliteTest youtube and forums too. So that was a day well spent. :)

Good times at the field, all 'round, looks like.

Yeah, the 2206 will certainly pull the CG further forward, but I think it could still work. Maybe a vertical takeoff would work better? :p

Yeah, it made getting CG balanced out a little tricky - I've got the battery stuffed way down the tail now

I haven't tried a vertical takeoff before - that sounds like a fun idea - placed way out in the middle of the field. :)

Sorry I couldn't make it out this weekend. I had hoped to catch the racing festivities and see this baby bugatti in person.

No knock on your assistant, but IMHO the hand launch was the issue right off the bat. 0 airspeed at 6' off the ground is a tough way to start a maiden flight :-/

Yeah, I think the launch had a lot to do with it, but as I mentioned that was my fault for not giving very clear instructions to him. His kid was super excited about the crash and how the plane all worked though - and I hope we'll see them all at the club and field over the summer :)

Awesome! I'm REALLY itching to get some flying in. Haven't been able to fly anything in the last month
