Baby Bugatti

tried to build this little bird 3 times and failed each. the precision needed on the cuts make trying to piece together tiled plans and get it right almost impossible. each time i made a stupid mistake which basically ruined the build. made for some really nice wall flowers though...

this time i'm feeling confident. ;)

i have 1 in white and 1 in black.

used Ben's plans and modified them to work on the local Hakerspace's laser cutter. most FT plans are a pain due to the size restrictions on the laser cut bed, but the Baby B fits the cut bed with some rearrangement of the pieces. first print which you see had some issue with pieces dropping. we fixed that and on the next did etch, score, then cut, and it worked perfect.

thank you Ben!

laters,

i'm sure had i read every page of this thread the few head scratchers i had would have been answered, but i just took my time, was patient when unsure, and sure enough it worked. still had some issues with the wing and the fuselage gap (which has killed me 2x before), but i think it will be fine. ;)

hope to maiden tomorrow.

With renewed interest in mini-powered A-Pack planes (thank you Long-EZ) ... I may have to get another one of these flying in my hangar. ;)

I'll have to add this to the - "when you have a free night" thread.
I SO want this plane to succeed for me.

The latest 24in span version was much more well behaved, compared to the initial 20" version, and still flies very nice on an 1806 A-pack motor.

Great. thank you so much for the inspiring development of this Baby.
I just finished mine today the 17th January 2019. I just wonder how to get a 3S or 3S into this.... they are all to fat.
My setup: 2S 1000mAh, 15 Amp ESC, a 2204 with 2300 kv motor, 5.5 x 4 Prop, new 4 ch Spektrum rx, and 10 grams of lead in the back.
I changed the hatch to open in the back instead of the front.
