Looks very promising! is this your first scratchbuild?

Nah, my second. I have made a failed J3 Piper Cub before. CG not right, crash. I have also tried making balsa or paper gliders, without much success. This build I believe will be better!

We are a dying breed. I have build 40+ Guillows or other stick kits. I grew up with the smell of dope and thinner. If you finish tissue or silkspan correctly, it will resemble film. Very nice model. Are preshrinking the tissue or frame shrinking? I dry cover the fuse with UHU Purple and shrink with misted water and I preshrink with mist water for the wings and tail to prevent warping. I finish with 3 coats of 50/50 dope to thinner, 1 coat of 70/30 dope to thinner and 1 full dope. Dave%u0025252BK%252BFW-190.jpg

Uhhh...

I don't have plastic covering available and I have not found dope yet.
I have covered it with tissue paper but as I didn't have dope, it was very weak. So, I decided to use some kind of polyester fabric that resembles silk to cover the plane. I might try out other types of lacquer instead of dope. I tried with acrylic lacquer but it does not dry hard, it dries flexible. So I'll see what I can do.
