Battery Charger Wall Charging Plug

Purchased a battery charger from HK and was suprised to find that the wall plug was not going to work. The prongs on the plug were round and farther apart than the regular plug. So it must be from overseas. Is it possible to change the plug to the type that will work here in the U.S.?

Changing the plug might no be a big problem, but be careful with the expected input voltage.
It sounds like a european plug, we use 220 Volts instead of 110V. So check the required input voltage first.
A lot of devices can use both (autoswitching or sometimes requiring a manual switch).

There are also chargers that require an external power supply (12-18V) like this one:

Use some well insulated female bullet connectors on a standard 2 wire cord. Be careful.

I just bought one of those and it doesn't come with the 12v supply. HK does have one for this charger, but I'm not sure it would work with yours as a plug-n-play. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=36904

baron just chop off the plug and put on one that fits, easily obtained at a big box store. Very easy to do.

You should be able to get yourself an adapter plug for round post European to flat blade American with no issues. Input on the charger is listed at 100 to 220v so should handle our outlets fine.

This morning I made my way to the somewhat nearest Radio Shack store with the charger at my side. Talked to the sales person and explained my need for a different electrical plug for the charger. In no time flat he walked over to one of the displays and came back with a plug that could be used for our outlets. Yooo Whooo, hi ho hi ho it off to the field I go!!!!!
