This is with a regular razor blade that was not fully sharp and with only one pass.

Not really. maybe a slight burning smell but it worth it to me for the ease in cutting and the added durability. If there was any it was definitely less than soldering to give a comparison.

The FUMES from burning/melting the foam are TOXIC. If you can smell it, you are breathing it. You SHOULD NOT BE BREATHING IT AT ALL.
You need good ventilation or a respirator when cutting foamboard that way. The FT laser cutters have vacuum systems to vent the fumes.
Please be cautious. (y)

I don't think its enough to worry about but I will check again. I know servo arms I would definitely be in a well ventilated area (it smells VERY toxic!)

Okay so just tried it again and it does smell a bit but not that bad so I probably will just have a window by where I am cutting out open a bit. But I know hot glue guns smell a bit too and I don't think they cause any problems.

Where a respirator when cutting then. Or at least a painting mask.

I recently read on the Internet : dad treated the apartment with dichlorvos from insects ... Four children who had been breathing in fumes for a long time could not be saved. Many poisons (mercury) do not smell and kill slowly.. It is better to cut with a stationary knife. neat and beautiful.

Like I said, I just do it in a well ventilated area.
