Help! Binding spektrum in Betaflight 4.1

Has anyone had any experience with binding a spektrum 4649T in Betaflight 4.1?

I'm debating on cutting off the female bind plug and wiring directly to the FC or leaving it on, for easier binding.

I've read that betaflight has had issues with binding spectrum, and was curious if those issues have been resolved in the newest version.

If the receiver is bound to your transmitter it will stay bound. You then just have to wire it to the correct UART on the flight controller.
Its much easier to pre bind the receiver to the transmitter and just use a short loom like LeDrib does in here. He also has a way to bind without using Betaflight.
