Bixler used as conservation drone

Found this on slashdot.org today/tonight. They are using the Bixler as a drone for conservaton purposes.

wow. I love the fact that they said its actually autonomis. I wonder what it takes to set up a bixler like this? so you could set it up, give it some way points, then sit back on ya chair watching a screen showing you what the plane sees. now that would be some relaxing flying

They are using the Arduplane software (diydrones)

I have the same gear and will use it in the Bixler and later on in the Skywalker.

In the software (flightplanner) you can set unlimited waypoints and it is really cool.

My Bixler is getting 1 step closer to maiden with Arduplane


everything mounted - I will add the FPV gear later on in case it goes bad (don't want to ruin the Pixim camera)
