Bixler2

The nose looks long!! I think it's longer, if so it could create issues for the GoPro. I'm happy with my original one :)

Whatever it is.. its just another Multiplex copy added to their ever growing lineup

Actually, the easystar 2 is a Bixler clone. they held off on adding ailerons for sooooo long, that when they started to lose sales to a more superior aircraft that includes ailerons from stock, they had to follow suit. ;)

I hope that HK has the decency to let the Joshes review this aircraft. It would be a shame to not see Bixler review the 2.0 version. I already told them I want to see a review in the discussion portion of the Bixler 2 page and I think everyone else should as well!

Looks like a little improvement but not enough to convince me that this is my next purchase.
I was actually hoping for a twin engine version with flaps..

I agree, I think they have made a mistake with the Nose by making it longer. Well for me personally its a mistake. I would never be able to clear that nose with the GoPro's field of vision (without major mods). Having looked at it I would still buy the old one. Mind you if you just want it for FPV and not worried about GoPro footage it looks pretty good. I guess you could push the GoPro even further forward but that will mean more tail weight.

I like the fact that it has the plastic protection under the fuselage, looks like its improved but not for FPV in my humble opinion.

I think scratch build will be our next project.

Hoped that they could have made a new sticker design. Is just like the old one but its an other color scheme. Bit dissapointed

what happened with HobbyKing, why the no sponsor bit, Chad just fobbed over it in his directors report, didn't tell us all or any of the actual story ? Why Why ?

The 'real' story seems to be that Hobbyking, while being a great sponsor, have certain requirements that Chad perceived was to a degree impeding the development of Flitetest toward the show's mission statement. I hope they still send stuff to FT for review, including the Bixler 2 and other cool new planes. Hobbyking are entrusting Bruce, a very harsh reviewer, to do the Hobbyking turbine review, so surely they'll be happy enough to have FT look over stuff and show the good, bad and the ugly.

I still can't believe the first 2 videos had nothing to do with the Backpack!, Thomas said jokingly that Bruce may make the 3rd video on the plane for the Backpack, the forth on the camera and so and so LOL. I had so many plans for the Backpack :(

I hope they get their club sorted out . . poor buggers, Thomas said our local park is better than their last flying field.

I tought me and hajo had it bad with all the guys that are 'hating' on us from natural club thingy things. But they have banned us from our favorite flying field. They say that our electro planes make noise since there is an highway next to us. I also hope that they get that sorted out, i think that bruce saw this comming because they asked everyone to send e mails to the locall news paper to maybe stop it...

Haha, he just wanted to go back to basics first! I'm grateful he did the antennas, because I wanted to have a go at making them and his technique for soldering to the shielding is gold. I don't know why it's not common practice! Although it does take some soldering skill (ie working quickly) to stop the ones you've already soldered falling off.

Hi guys, I'm just getting into RC flight, and I'm looking to get a bixler 2. However, I have two questions regarding what I need to get the plane in the air. First, I see that I need a 20amp esc. I have no idea what would be the right one to get, or what I need to look for. Should I get one with a higher amp rating? Does brand matter? Also, I will need to get a 3s 2200 lipo. Again, what do people recommend for this battery (brand, c rating, etc)? Thanks for the help.

Or
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__3731__TURNIGY_Basic_25A_v3_1_Speed_Controller.html
But both are back ordered right now.
As an alternate maybe one of these but I prefer the plush or basics myself

Never had an issue with these batteries if taken care of.
If you want to splurge the new nano-techs are great.
Look also at getting a decent balance charger too.
If the B2 version is like the original you may want to look at upgrading the control
horns and the carbon wing spar too.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
