Yep, it's new. New Hero4s can be found on eBay for about $100 off retail if anyone's looking.

waaaaaaaaaaaaht? That's pretty dang good! any hero4 blacks with that kinda discount? I'm gonna have to shop around... no wait, already spent my playcheck. Next month!

zoom zoom!

Indeed. :)

Interested to hear how the 1300 4s Lumeniers hold up after you've had more time to abuse them with the 2300kv monsters :)

I'd say the 2300 KV motors are pushing the limits of the 1300s, and I haven't flown particularly hard yet. Just punching it enough to gain 20 feet or so of altitude to clear a tree is triggering a low voltage warning. That didn't happen with the 1960 KVs.

I replaced the Naze32 acro board with a Naze32 full version because I wanted to try out the blackbox feature using the built in flash that is not available on the acro version.

It's a pretty cool feature, but I'd say it's not worth the price of the full Naze32 board. The onboard storage is only 2 MB, so it won't hold very much blackbox data. Maybe some of the Cleanflight compatible flight controllers in development will have more available storage.

I'm really loving what blackbox is bringing out with these overlays. Not worth a full naze32, but definitely worth it for the next big thing. kinda taking things to another level.

You can hook up a seperate storage device pretty cheaply. I'm organising one tonight for tuning purposes.

Yeah, that might be a better option anyway, especially for tuning. You'll have the ability to move the device to different models easily. And it just requires a couple extra pins or wires soldered to the FC.

Ouch! Do you have any spares? Hope the motor is ok...

I have a couple spare ESCs. You can barely see it in the photo, but the coating on the wires in the motor is melted off in a few places. I'm probably going to put the 1960 KV motors back on.

was it from a crash? or what happen.. fire yeah? did you see flame?

I crashed into some tall grass. I think the impact could have jostled a wire loose and shorted something out (less likely) or I didn't get off the throttle in time and the prop bogged down in the grass was more load than the ESC could handle (more likely). Yes, there were a surprising amount of flames. I was able to just blow them after I unplugged the battery though.

Looks like slightly different fets... not that I know the difference and way too tired to research it. Let us know how you like them compared to KISS... always nice to see competition out there!
