In terms of batteries, I've had good luck with HRB packs. They're not quite the cheapest out there, but I've never had one go bad in a way that threatened a plane or to light on fire. Maybe it's just luck, but I've had some more expensive packs from Admiral and Eflite (never one of the more recent Smart batteries - those things seem to be amazing if pricey - but some of the older ones with the special UMX connector) that completely stopped working in flight or suddenly puffed up on the charger with no warning.

It's probably because of the tariffs.

Never - I mostly used more brand name packs until 4 or 5 years ago when I mostly switched to HRBs - I've also used Ovonics for some smaller packs which worked fined and Socokin packs which were really cheap and good 5 years ago but more recently they've died extremely quickly.

CNHL is a more known brand it seems like in the quad world.....I have not had very good luck ovonics....Even though the C rating was more on my last ovonic it kept dipping lower voltage than my lower c turnigy...So far my Tattu R-line is doing well....I am also trying Coddar brand batteries....

I noticed Turnigy has come out with a new line of batteries....I wonder if they are better than the older one as they are more expensive.

that's why some people are noy in favor of tariffs. bozo was going to note the tariff amount on each amazon item, but was told to back off or face the consequences: watch
Shipping is getting right up there adding cost, needed 6 bushing bolts and nuts ordered from a place197 miles away nuts and bolts $8.47 shipping was $12.95. Pay attention to shipping Amazon and E-bay rates have climbed.

Or you can order from Hobby King and spend over $100 to get free shipping.😁

Invest in the Higher C Tattus. Been running tattus for almost a decade. I can puff the low C ones no problem by running them at a higher current than they are rated based on C*mah. The High C ones I can rip all day long and they barely get warm even at or above the rated C*mah. My biggest problem is I always seem to catastrophically crash with my best and/or newest batteries on board. :ROFLMAO:
I think the Tattu R-lines are better 👍

Tattu R-lines are pretty good batteries. I have also heard some good things about SMC lipos. And SLS SPEED batteries are also really good for high speed rc planes (though they only come as 5100 mah packs) And the SLS quantum series is also pretty good.

I have been using Thunderpower batteries for over 20 years.
As for prop usage, yeah, any other brand thing works unless you abuse them, if you suck that amperage out quickly, or exceed the limits, short life. I even just fill the battery to 95% load, and my batteries usually last 3-5 years.

Where it is tough on batteries is when you get to fly EDF jets, to get the best performance, you need real dependable battery(s) that doesn't puff or if you exceed C rating(2 EDF's one battery, DarkStar,SR-71, A-10 are results of that saved weight) TP still hangs on. Yes, they even have special sets for pylon/FAI batteries for the group that do the need for speed.

Some selling points:
Batteries are assembled in Los Vegas. (no tariff's)
2 to 3 times a year have a 33% sale (that's when I buy all my batteries, especially for EDF's)
friends who are in competition in pylon/FAI buy the racing pack.
Years before, once a year they used to have a 2 for 1 sale. Time has changed. Just like carbon fiber.

So far, I hm becoming a fan of CNHL's..Seems like they get used a lot in the quad world....They have really good discharge ratings and seem to have good life compare to other brands I have tried...Unless I am just more careful with them because they are more expensive! 😂

They are not that expensive in fact they are cheaper than a lot of other brands out there. Maybe thats the case only for me in my country but CHNL's are quite affordable.
