Brushed rc planes/helis

A lot of people have (or say they have) been flying their brushed models for upwards 15 years without them wearing out, but my hobbyzone p51 lost most of its power after 15 flights. How??? I also want a blade mcx as my first heli to learn the controls and have fun with flying but im worried about the motors dying and it becoming unflyable. But others say their original mcxs lasted until now still flying. Has anyone had this issue?

could have something to do with how and where they fly. Some people fly ultra conservatively which lends itself to longevity.

Maybe you got a bad one. I have had bad micro planes right out of the box which had to be returned/exchanged.

Brush failure is a possibility. Rare, but still possible. The only 2 reasons to have brushed is: high starting torque (like in a car) or you need lots of high power regen which is easier in a brushed (can't get regen with a gasser prop). Replaced the 16 $$brushe$$ in my Kostov after 5 years daily driving less than 20,000 miles.

Might be your care and feeding of the setup. Onve you burn a brush, it's life is cooked (see what I did there?)
