I kept poking around for plans for the Jenny and found the McB one, but it was slightly different and seemed more experimental that the actuall FT Jenny XL. And I found no plans, but there was some talk about releasing them. So not wanting to wait for that I ordered out the kit from FT and now kind of see why no plans - it is a rather complicated build for foam board, lots of pieces and parts, and the laser cutting and lining really helps get building along. Plus all the plywood parts - the wing struts are plywood, and there are three sections of fuselage that have to be assembled.
I did a build follow up in the thread on the McB one here:
I talked about lack of plans and assembly instructions, and some of the difficulties figuring out how it goes together. There are a couple of other build threads where people had questions and problems, so I thought I would put this up so that anyone coming along later with questions are welcome to post them here. Now I know how it goes together and common problems builders would have with the process.
I'm a model builder, putting flying airplanes together since about 1965, so yeah about 60 years. I fly RC scale and sport, helicopters, ran 1/10 scale RC crawlers for quite a time, even did control line back when I was a kid, pretty much before there was radio control. Just building some scale boats now for RC as well.
Jenny is a nice airplane, it's a great subject for a build. I really liked the images with the red wings, and I found some really nice board at Hobby Lobby so I thought I would use that for wings for this build. I copied over the outline and crease lines, ailerons from the originals, and build mine with the red board. Now I have an extra set of wing panels should I have to rebuild the airplane from a crash. Hoping I never have to use them!
I had hitec HS-55 servos on hand - they are 8g with good torque. I got the FT motor - it's a good motor for a good price. I had a 40A Eflite ESC, so that went in. I fly spektrum, so it's got a AR620 in it now, but I have started using lemon RX's so it might get one of those.
Here's a few pics of my finished aircraft - it's ready for maiden. Maybe this weekend.
Feel free to post questions if you're building and have any problems.

McB JN-4 Jenny
There's a way around that. Trace the pieces from the kit on poster board and make your own templates. Then you have a set of plans to rebuild from on the remote possibility that you crash. Remote Possibility you crash? Generally if there's a kit somewhere here should be plans
