Howdy,

does anyone know the channels frequency for the hobbyking 900MHz 800mw kit? I want to make circular polarized antennas, so I need the right frequency for it.

thanks,

Hi!

The product description on HK's website states
Frequency:*0.9G 0.910G,0.980G,1.010G,1.040G
Which means:
900mhz - 910mhz - 980mhz - 1010mhz - 1040mhz.

On www.rcexplorer.com you can find the guide to build the antennas. It has a calculator built into the page.

I know these are the frequencies available, but I'm not sure which frequency corresponds to which channel... I've just got the 200mW system. With the tx switches down, the rx channel 3 works best. But I'm not sure which frequency this is ie 900, 910, 980, 1010 or 1040. If it was logical, I'd assume it's 1010, but how can you tell???

that was my original question. I am assuming it goes 0 = 900MHz, 1 = 910MHz and so on. I hope it's like this, because I just built a clover antenna for 900Mhz.

OK, I've found from an unverified source that on the 900MHZ 200mW system, channel 2 is 1010 and channel 3 is 1040. I'll keep digging to see if this is true. On my system, channel 3 seems to output the least amount of signal on other channels

Hahahahahaha. I'd hate to think what the non-specialist would tell you! Probably something like 'the channels are in the back warehouse with the Christmas race video and our CS staff. I will try to get them through to you as fast as possible. Thank you for your patience. Bruce.'

I think Dave's quarter wave lambda antenna tuning process, followed by using his equation to solve for frequency after you find out the optimum antenna length, is the only way to verify the correct frequency for each channel. http://www.rcexplorer.se/page14/hwwa/hwwa.html

Thanks, I appreciate it.
