No die or laser cut, it's knife and file.

It only took me 2 hours to cut most of the parts out. Haven't built a cut-it-yourself kit since the very first kit I ever built, which I believe was the Comet Spad. This is a real test of my bifocals.

Hmm not that many cut out parts on the plans, but I couldn't build one because my patience is now retrogressing back to my childhood levels of none.
Didn't notice an end game for this. I recall it can't be made RC without extensive rework

Comet wasn't nice enough to give patterns of the parts on the plans for when you screw one up, which I did, but had enough of the remains to duplicate them reasonably. They squeezed nearly every part on to ONE sheet of balsa, some of the lines nearly overlap. The nose sections are on a separate small sheet of 1/8". I was just going to build this for display or rubber power, but I bet I can get it to fly RC with one of those little "brick" combos from Buzzard. I dunno. I have 5 more of these Comet kits on the shelf, I should probably RC one with wheels rather than floats.

I built a few of those back in the late 50`s and early 60`s only ever rubber powered them. Using a brick it would make a fantastic indoor flyer you should go for it would luv to see it done.

OMG U R bringing back some memories of my early building years. My top three FF models was the Comet Sparky, the SR 7 and the 54in Taylorcraft. That SR 7 was a fantastic scale FF flyer and is on my list of conversions. I did the Taylocraft back in '06 and still fly it today. Originally done in silkspan and dope, but had to re cover it in Monkote due to hanger rashes. Keep posting.
