Confused on weight/registration/remote id situation

I have a DJI Mini 4 Pro. I bought a 6gm strobe to add to it. That sends it over 249gm. So, I registered this drone. I also have a TRUST certificate.
What I'm unsure about is the Remote ID. My understanding is if the weight is over 239gm, then the remote ID must be transmitted. Another understanding is this drone will only transmit the remote ID if the plus battery installed. I have 4 standard batteries, so I was thinking if I put the strobe on when needed and I would buy & use a plus battery. When strobe not needed I would remove it and use standard batteries since the weight would be under 250gm.

In a Facebook group I was asking about this and was told that because I registered, I MUST always have the Remote ID transmitted, so then I'd have no use for my existing batteries and have to buy new ones. Asking here to confirm the answer I had gotten or some confirmation about what I would like to do regarding the strobe off and on and plus/standard batteries.
Thanks.,

I don't believe that is correct.
If you are a hobbyist, RID depends solely on the weight, it has nothing to do with registration.

If you fly for any kind of payment, including monetized youtube videos, there are different requirements.

The real question is if RID is activated automatically when using the extended flight battery, can it be manually activated in the settings when using the normal battery? Unfortunately, the last time I contacted DJI support the person I talked to didn't seem to understand what I was asking and responded in English with Chinese interspersed, so it was no help at all. If I were you, I would get an extended flight battery to use with the strobe even if you can activate RID in settings because the added draw on the battery will shorten your flight time (and you can never have too many batteries).

The small batts do not activate RID broadcast.
I do wonder if there is a way to set it to be on as default.

When I posted I couldn't think of a reason for DJI to deactivate RID when using the small batts other than battery draw and flight time, but I now think it might be due to FAA rules regulating RID broadcast and FAA registration that I am unaware of.

If you bothered to read all the post in the thread, you should already know the answer to this question.
