Copyright Taranis Model Icons

Hi,
JDILL posted FT icons in the thread Frsky Taranis Model Icons
http://forum.flitetest.com/showthread.php?34403-Frsky-Taranis-Model-Icons&highlight=icons

We communicated by e-mail and I then tried to post them on the OpenTX website
http://www.open-tx.org/icons-taranis.html

But I've been asked about copyright
https://github.com/opentx/opentx.github.io/pull/22

I've tried to contact FliteTest including using a website e-mail I found and a PM to Josh B.

Could someone please guide me to a way to get a statement from FliteTest that authorizes the use of these icons?

Flite Test aircraft images were taken from the Flite Test website and modified by JDILL in to Taranis compatible model icons.

If the images were taken from the plans then there is no problem as they are published as "free and open source" for the community.

From the website images. As far as I know they "OpenTX" want something a bit more official like an e-mail from a flitetest that I can quote.

If it were just me, given what I know about FT, the icons would be posted by now. But I also understand the caution. It appears that going forward OpenTX wants to cover its bases.

If everything FT is open source then maybe the copyright notice on the website could be replaced by a link to a GPL license or some variant of their own open source license.

I know there have been unofficial commercial copies of some FT planes. Maybe that's why there is a copyright notice.

So how do I get an "official " response:)

To whom it may concern,

Flite Test gives permission to use FT icons as Frsky Taranis Model Icons for personal use.

Yeah I thought Josh had also addressed that in a podcast when they were discussing the model designs and use of the FT logo for simulators that people were copying FT planes for with his blessings

Would be nice to have a link under copyright or linked from copyright on the webpages to a comprehensive statement. But Si guess this foes not happen often enough to put on the todo list.
Let's spend more time having fun:)
