So a few hours with some 5mm XPS foam sheets from Hobbyking and this happened!

I have seen the versa wing, and have a love for the double delta wing (or a leading edge wing extension LERX) and thought that looks like an awesome idea.
I also learned to fly 10 years ago on the original F-27 Stryker with a brushed motor. After installing a brushless motor on it way back then, it has still been one of my fav rc planes.
Even today to get a micro stryker is crazy expensive. (And they are too small)
After a couple or rough drawings I set out to make my own flying wing, double delta and using a spare 2825 funfighter motor I had.
I have built another double delta "Stryker" before, but that took Waaaay too long to cut, shape and sand out of insulation foam.
Once I had my drawings roughed out, I started measuring, drawing out and cutting out the base wing plate. This one of the few builds I actuley took progress photos.

Next I uses some insulation foam for the spars, with a little carbon reinforcement, I've already exploded 1 plane in mid air due to lack of strength and excessive g force (I have a video some where).

Then using fiber tape, attached the top part of the wing to the leading edge, I drew the top part 5mm longer at the trailing edge to allow for the bending of the wing. Once taped, bevel cut both sides of the leading edge.

Next was the inner top wing panel (really not sure how to describe each bit)

The hard part was ensuring the top panels line up, but having tape ready to put on as soon as you glue helps line them up.

Both sides done. Pretty happy about this so far!

Decided to put an extra carbon rod in.

Next, center and install the servos, re-used from a crashed SU-27. I do cut them down to size. (Couple of 9 gram). Uses fiber tape on top, 45 degree bevel cut for the elevons as per standard FT procedure! Works great!

Next in go the side panels. This is after I had to cut the inside part of the inner wing top panels so they are perpendicular to the base wing plate.

This is taking longer than expectedbto post so I'll post more when I get a chance. Thoughts?

Looking good! Going to maiden before any fancy paint, or is the black canopy enough to help you keep orientation?
