Crow on an Aura

Hey,
Does anyone here understand the Aura Configuration Tool well enough to walk me through setting up Crow on a plane with flaps?

Any help is much appreciated. I can usually figure things out between Google and futzing around, but this has me baffled.

I'm not really sure it matters, as the core on all of them is the same; just the number of output channels changes, but yeah, it would probably be on one of my Aura 8s.

Flex does have some planes with crow. They have aura 8 boards in them. Looks like they do it with a crow enable switch and mixing throttle from 0 to 50%. 0 throttle being full deployment. half throttle and above no crow. Would you want to set it up like that or on a separate slider/knob?

We could probably reverse engineer the config files from one or more of those planes, or swag our own mix.

I could plausibly use this on one or more planes at work, so I am game to give it a go.

Not sure, probably the latter. If you can figure out what they are doing to reverse-engineer this, good on you! I just don't know those sections of the Config Tool well enough to make heads or tails.

I'll try to swag it over the weekend on a 5 that I use to mock up and test with. I don't have an 8 at home.

Should be similar to Elevon mix, just with flap instead of Elevator. So Flaperon going up instead of down. Hmmm.....

Just a quick jab before going to bed. Need to adjust weights and actually test it out. Could ground test it on my Phoenix 2400 glider after mocking it with some servos.

Played with this a bit on an aura 5 and the aileron part is easy. I could easily do it with a hybrid aura/radio flap mix, but would like to figure it out all inside the aura. Going to look at some of the aura setups for Flex Innovations planes that have a crow setup to get some more insight.

This just shows I'm getting old and reluctant to try new things. I broke down and asked Gemini, and it gave me a lot to work with. I forgot that AI is just a search engine on steroids.
Still, post anything you come up with, but if you don't, I've got a definite starting point.

There are always multiple ways to do things. Some easier than others. Do you want to be able to use the flaps as flaps as well as for crow? Do you want to use different switches/sliders for flaps/crow, or would using the same slider/switch be fine and then just enable the Aileron mix. The more I think about it. The more ideas come to mind.

There really are a lot of possibilities. I like the way flex does it on their own aircraft they make it where if you’re over a half throttle there’s no crow and then it’s proportional down to zero throttle. I think if I get where I understand flexes logic as well as I do edge Tx there’s not much you can’t do with it. There just isn’t much documentation.

They use these funky channels 16 and above which are like you said, not well documented.

So I think using aura flap instead of assigning and RC channel to the flap servos is part of the crow setup.....

I don't have an aura 8 to play with, and I need to get my "test" Aura 5 into a night flyer for next weekend and flight fest. Will revisit it soon..... Will try to get an aura 8

Dumb question for crow why even run it thru the Aura and not just the receiver using an 8 channel should do it.
