These radios don't get the love they deserve.
Here's the mod I did to mine. I only use this one plane that is a trainer, but I don't like having to buy some many AA batteries.

im running mine on lipos aswell . i fly my tricopter with it but i realy need to get a remote with expos this remote will be sidelined for my planes and boats .
