The struggle is real! One of my cnc router is a Shaper Origin specifically because it takes up no perminit floor space. All my favorite tools seem to take som much floor space. CNC, laser, needle cutter, 3d printer, assembly table. Most need a dust collection or venting stystem
I wish the aluminum fold up table my parents had was around. Would be good fire resistant sub floor to work on. LOL.Yup, I’ll probably have to use 2 fold up tables for this 🤣
Yup, it certainly would… 😂I wish the aluminum fold up table my parents had was around. Would be good fire resistant sub floor to work on. LOL.
I added it to mine. Made a BIG difference.I am glad my laser has air assist.
I have marked and cut DTFB with my 10 Watt. Marking is easy. Cutting takes perfect height, speed, air assist, and power. What can you cut with a diode laser?
Plywood, corigated cardboard, pink or green foam, FFF (flat fan foam, the stuff used under house siding).
Im thinking if you could make a template of a plane with the diode. Then follow the template with a dremel to cut out a plane made from DTFB.
Well, I‘ve got a 20w, soooo….. 😂I have marked and cut DTFB with my 10 Watt. Marking is easy. Cutting takes perfect height, speed, air assist, and power.
have any test cuts yet? any good flareup stories??Well, I‘ve got a 20w, soooo….. 😂
Nope, not yet. Been very busy lately, but did buy some safety glasses (200-2000nm) and haven;y installed lasergrbl yet. Hope to do some testing this weekhave any test cuts yet? any good flareup stories??
Cool! (BTW as far as the lasregrbl...I have heard that Orca slicer can help with that! JKWell folks, it’s time for an update…. I manually did some testing today (my laser has a touch screen control panel) and tried cutting some black dtfb. I first did some testing with and without air assist at 100% power (see first pic) and then remembered to set the laser height. And tried it at both 50 and 100% power. Both cut cleanly. (with air assist on) So now I just gotta figure out lasergrbl 😂
Glad you peeled the paper back and it looks clean. Some of my results (pre air assist) looked good with the paper on, but horrendous under the paper. Cutting on honeycomb helps too so the air has somewhere to go other than lifting the FB.Well folks, it’s time for an update…. I made stone 1” risers for the foam 👍 works the same as a honeycombGlad you peeled the paper back and it looks clean.
