Halford,

Setting up the throttle range I normally do when the esc's are still 'in tact'.
I mean with all the stock wiring still on and with a separate battery/RX, one by one.
When the quad is behaving ok at startup now, I think it won't be a problem.
But check the max throttle rpm carefully.

About the wiring, there are simple solutions available at very low costs.
Or you can make them yourselves off course .. HK has all the connector parts.

Update:

I tested the mini quad with the HK control board but it flies terrible ..
Cannot control the yaw, it keeps spinning cw and cww like crazy !
I added extra wooden spars like in this photo.
I thought that the torque rotated the booms and that made it spin.
But no .. with this mod she is still uncontrollable whatever pod sensitivity I choose.

It must be something with the HK board.
I flashed different firmware versions but no such luck.
Gonne install the KK Flycam Black Board again ..

Update :

Well, the KK Flycam Black Board made the difference !
Here is the maiden vid.
Did it in the garage because of the heavy rain outside.
Inside the house ? No .. not yet (LOL).

Sorry for the poor quality but I zip-tied an iphone to the TX antenna ;-)
Made a quick vid and uploaded to YT.
This is the actual 1st and 2nd flight.

Firmware is Flycam Quadcopter v2.5 in 'plus-mode'
Pod setup is standard 50-50-50.
Not much more modding needed I guess.

I'll make a new vid later with more light.

Hey Burg, thanks for the info, it's exactly what I have done. I took one cable in in normal mode and I stripped the other to 3 separated ends..It flies, but not as stable as I thought... Still have to trim it and do a proper setup.

total weight with battery 160g

here some pics, soon a video:

Nice Halford !

Congratz with the maiden !
I must say .. very smooth.
With some tweeking she will fly even better I guess.

Did you setup Dual Rates and Expo ?
I will experiment with that later this week as well.

no not yet... I still have to trim it correctly and set the gyro. Then it will be time for Dual Rates and Expo. but today is my last day of holiday... so it will be during week as soon as I have some free time.

Yesterday I received my ordered grub screw type 2mm prop adapters from RadicalRC.
VERY licht and very high quality.

Suitable for 3, 4 and 5.5mm prop holes.
The GWS 5x3x3 blades fit without any modification.

I balanced a 5x3x3 with some CA and the 1811-2000kv runs very smooth.
So much better .. gonne put them on all 4 now.

Two new vids !

Outside at a covered truck loading dock where there was little wind.
Perfect .. all gyro gains at standard 50/50/50.
No expo, no dual rates.
Flycam KK board works great.
