Dean's connectors

#1
KIMG0608.JPG An awful lot of folks use Dean's connectors and find them very difficult to unplug. Buy a "small" reversible pair of snap ring pliers. Drill a small hole in each half of the connector and you will say to yourself, "Why didn't I think of this before". If you drill all the way through, use extreme caution as to avoid contact with opposite terminals. See attached photo.

With other options out there I initially went with EC3's which I still like but then went to XT60's because when I order Lipo's that is the usual connector already on. Inprefer both over the Deans as they have a solid connection but still are easier to disconnect.

I am curious. When you drill the hole, how close does the drill bit get to the actual metal contacts inside the plastic? I would be concerned about shorting out the Lipo.
