A battery's connector is not an issue for me as I have a number of adapters such that I can utilize any battery in any plane just by using an adapter. If I have a need to borrow a battery or lend one to another RC pilot then as long as the capacity and the cell count are correct I know I can provide an adapter to get it installed.
The connector type is going to be a problem only if you cannot use it. An additional benefit is that I no longer need to change battery connectors because the batteries on special had the wrong connector type.
