Different countries different frequencies?

So I'm from the USA and have a DX8 from the USA. But I will be moving to Asia in August. Will I need to buy a new/different radio when I get there? Are the same frequencies legal/available?

You'll likely find that much less things will be illegal, and if they are the enforcement of those laws just isn't there. I doubt you'll have to change a thing save to protect your radio connection from other devices.

You can use a frequency scanner to check what's happening in your area, so you can avoid frequencies on which there's a lot of noise. Some frequency hopping systems are also able to avoid noisy parts of the band they're operating on. Also, directional antennas facing away from interference can effectively block out noise that would bother an omni-directional system.
