@Wildthing - to span the weak point of the fuse I made these two mating blocks that will fit internally - the shaped one will be glued in first allowing the second one to slide in and mate together - the centre rib will also help improve the strength - it is all a learning curve!

Just the little ribs should add a great amount of strength.

@Wildthing - the internal supports are all glued in to repair the fuse - I forgot to take pictures, but I think it will work!

Always fun finding new build techniques to overcome design limitations. I know that that location takes a lot of G forces on launch.

@flyboa - best I could achieve was 0.3mm and it seems quite strong - I bent a couple of different versions to test what the servo can handle - the boom is currently glueing into the fuse and then I will hook up the ailerons and elevator!

I can use a thinner wire for my elevator since my planes are very light.

@flyboa - it is really taking shape now - very exciting - before glueing the boom the CG was pretty good with all the gear installed so I am hopeful not to add much in the way of balance weight!

I should scale mine just to see what it's all out weight is. I haven't worked up the nerve to try the discuss launch yet, it is sitting pretty (un-broken) right now.

@Wildthing - I will weigh mine today, still need to attach the pull spring and ailerons!

@Wildthing - I am still to add the pull string but I think the AUW is 285g (10oz on the nose) - with the battery fitted but not fully forward it is balancing at about 35% of the wing, so I think depending on the glide tests it might need a small amount of weight in the nose (very small) - I am amazed at the difference with these tail feathers compared to last time - the tail is longer, and lighter, so hopefully, the rebuild has been worthwhile!

oh, and what was also very cool after the T16 saga with the 'key stuck' error (now fixed) the Rx auto bound as soon as I turned it on (vario functioning and everything) - very very very impressed!

Mine scaled in at 315 gr ready to go.

You could lose a little bit of weight by going to nylon bolts & nuts for the wing.

After the excitement of sloping in the weekend my hands are still shaking but I did manage to glue in the throwing peg!😀

The aileron controls are in and I managed to insert the braided pull string through the boom and hook up the elevator - the 0.4mm elevator spring feels too tough so I will get something smaller to compare!
