DoubleCad to PDF issues.

Okay I have the plans made up for a plane and I can print them out through my cad, but I can't get them into a PDF to share. I'm using doublecad xt with localfiends template for tiled plans. I have already read the forum on it and I tried everything I can think of. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I don’t know doublecad, but if you can save the file in dxf format, you can open dxf in inkskape and then save as PDF

Ok, have read the description. You can export dxf. So you can do it as i described

Okay I saved it and opened it in inkscape but I don't know how to reduce the line thickness so it turned out like this.
inkscape.PNG
When the file opened the plans were really small, so I had to enlarge them. Localfiend made this template so that one could easily be put into a tiled format but I'm not sure how to do this with inkscape.

I use DoubleCad and use CutePDF writer to "print" the files to PDF format.

So my workflow is:
(1) 3D model in sketchup
(2) unfold in sketchup
(3) export to dxf
(4) import dxf into DoubleCAD
(5) arrange parts and color and label as needed
(6) print to PDF using CutePDF

Nice that all of the software I use in this workflow is free.

You don’t should enlarge the parts in inkskape because you will change the size. They are 1:1 scale after import the dxf. You only should use the zoom.

Okay so how do you use cute pdf with doublecad?

CutePDF installs a virtual printer on your computers. Anything sent to this printer is saved as a PDF file.

In DoubleCAD, select print, select CutePDF as your printer, and hit okay. When the print job is finished a dialog will appear requesting a file name for the PDF file.
