Help! DTFB water-proofing question

Going theough my backlog of half used hobby stuff I came across this can of spar urithane.

I live in Oregon and the rainy season is fast approaching. Since I'm still new to the hobby I am wondering: is this ok to use to water"proof" my foamies?

Being a spray I can understand needing multiple coats (2-3) to achieve a decent seal.

Anyone have any experience with a similar method?

I have not used this product.

I’d recommend try it on a scrap piece as some paints and glues can eat the foam. Most of the time it is a solvent in the product. With spray cans, if there is a problem, you hold the spay can away from the foam (16-18 inches) allowing the solvent time to evaporate before it hits the foam.

There is no way of telling if a new product will eat the foam until you try it.

minwax seems to be the go-to glop-on/wipe-off method. i'm hoping this will work to save myself a couple of pennies. Then I can throw it at a can of conformal coating, like corrosion-x.
