Solved DX6e short on range test

I repaired my Spektrum DX6e today after it took a fall facedown off a table yesterday (all my fault). It seems fine, but to be sure I went outside and did a range test. At the recommended 30 paces, I got nothing, and further testing showed the cutoff to be somewhere between 22 and 25 paces, getting a little glitchy as it got close to that. Is this normal for this model, or did I break it more than I thought? I'm hesitant to go fly until I know I can trust it, and I'm not willing to risk my planes for something that could be determined ahead of time. Thanks

It should be noted that I've never done a range check with this radio before, so I have nothing to compare it to

Never mind, I figured it out. Turns out the antenna was plugged into the wrong port. I switched to the other one and now it keeps the signal well past 30 paces at reduced power.
