Eachine 700TVL CCD FPV set.. Any good??

I picked up this affordable Eachine 700TVL FPV set, to see if it was any good
In this video I'll unbox it and give you some tips & info.

I have the same, i have not tried anything but bench testing yet...got it mounted and ready to go, but it has been a bit windy (or other appropriate excuse). What I have noticed is the colors are VERY saturated. I will, this week, hopefully tomorow, put it in the air and let one of my kids go for a ride before I try to FPV it. I'll record the flight and post it here.

Looks a bit oversaturated indeed.. Maybe that can be adjusted with the OSD?? I have not looked into that yet.. I do know you can adjust image-attributes with it...

I have that VTX, bought it in a set with a super cheap (and fairly crappy) CMOS camera. It works okay - for as long as it does. It gets really warm, so warm I even added a cooler. Even then you will find many report of it failing after a while. I am curious about the camera though.

I have been looking at those they definitely seem better than the cmos cameras..

I have the CMOS version. It works well except that the colors can wildly change as your flying around. One moment everything is fine, then you turn a corner and the saturation drops or shoots up. Also the brightness takes a relatively long time to adjust so going from full sun to a dark area can leave you blind for a few milliseconds. Not sure if these are as big of an issue on the CCD version.

Okay..got the maiden flight in today...The explorer likes to go fast, and is a bit wierd on the rudder...don't know why, but sometimes responds in the opposite direction? (like in a stall turn) very odd...look into that later...

I'll post my finding on the saturation / exposure ASAP people.. If it really is better then the Cmos version, I'll dump the Cmos cam's I have

Nice looking plane 510!
The cam footage actually looks pretty decent, though the dark coners worry me a bit.. Not a sign of a well thought out design..

Didn't even notice the dark corners. But the best way to put this is I paid $30 for a CCD camera and a 200mw transmitter as an experiment. I was hoping for better transition from towards the sun/ away from the sun, which is the worst thing about the micro fpv on the vapor. Meh...my contribution to the forum is the results of this test..hopefully it is useful to someone.

Seems ok i guess. I bet you can tweek it if you get a setting board with the buttons..

You may get better results if you avoid having the white large fuse in the picture. Either move the camera, or if need be, paint it black.
