Emax Nighthawk 280 won't acro

Hey there good peeps.

I have recently decided after around 6 months of flying a quad I would step up to Acro (yeah I know before anyone posts, bad move.. bad habits learned already) my main problem is that the nighthawk doesn't recognise any flight mode changes in Cleanflight. I'm running the newest stable Naze32 protocol, but once I start setting modes Acro never seems to be active (bench tested only) I disconnect the quad and arm it only to find once I tilt it off the horizontal axis the motors spin at different speeds to correct, to me this looks like the pure Horizon mode.

What am I doing wrong? I have tried to change the arm and mode to 2 diff Aux chnls with no luck. I've tried both on the same chnl minus horizon and still no luck. I have a second quad that I will be able to use for acro but it has tilted motor mounts and is faster so I don't really want to learn on this one.

I'm using a
Flysky FS-iA6 6CH Receiver with a Flysky iA6 radio (Turnigy stock) the fact the aux 3-4 doesn't register concerns me is there a mix or have I just selected the wrong default radio?

Any help would be appreciated. I'll post some setup pics if needed, just at work atm.

Thanks in advance

Your going to want to throw some props on it and make sure it's an issue. Think of Acro mode as just a connection to your sticks, the motors will still need to stabilize everything to keep you "connected" and it's hard to tell the difference between flight modes on the bench.
That being said, another thread has just been made by a fellow with the same issue (he's field tested his) so there could be something here.

Thanks for the heads up Habakkukk, I'll give that a go as soon as I get some free time. Damn work eating into my hobby time

When you tilt a copter with the sticks, the P loop pushes and the I loop holds it where you told it to go.

If you tilt a copter with your hand the copter will fight your hand just like you want it to fight the wind. When you tilt your copter with your hand you are not simulating stick controls, you are simulating wind pushing your copter.

You want the I gain to fight to hold the copter where you told it whether that is level with the horizon (horizon mode) or at the attitude you select (acro mode).

Both modes should fight your hand.

Works fine there must have been an overlap in the flight mode switches. Works like a charm and finally flying Acro woot :)
