hey guys have you seen the new ESC from emax.. looks like they are going for one that will benefit there pretty red bottom motors. ( they are really nice motors, from aesthetics to construction.. they just feel good all around. warm fuzzy emax hugs. heh)
they are calling it the "Lightning" which is not so original either am I tho. here is a link with all the specs, seems they will blast onto the market at the end of june.. unless active breaking was left on at there marketing department. anyhow, if there experience pushing the red bottom motors to market shows us what to expect a new product coming to market with emax. we will be able to get them with out scalpers etc which is always nice to be able to get a product you want to try.. especially a new one that comes to market with out having to sell your unborn kid and new product tax from scalpers :D

http://www.emaxmodel.com/esc/lightning-30a-esc.html looks like around 14.00 a pop.

"EMAX LIGHTNING 30A ESC:

1. The first BLHeli ESC with Synchronous Rectification hardware design in the market

2. Utilizes high-performance F396 MCU

3. Lightweight: 5.5g including power wires and signal wires / Small Footprint: 24.5*12.5*5.0 (mm)

4. Supports active braking

5. FW upgradable via signal wire

6. Anti-counterfeit code of authenticity

7. Supports up to 4S High Voltage (4.35v max per cell)

8. Smallest F396 powered 30A ESC in it's class

9. Oneshot Enabled / Multishot Ready

10. High-current burst rating "

i was looking to buy some 30a esc for my trifecta project and stumbled onto these.

I figure i will use three of them on the tricopter build, the 4th will be a spare in case i get a dud ( I learn this lesson the hard way, even tho it still seems like a waste of money to buy a 5th.. but a dud in my current build has shown me the light. gives the DYS SN the evil eye. heh)
and the 4th one ill use on a FT mini arrow.

Can someone explain to me there sales pitch ( is this just fancy talk, for something very basic that others esc can do? ) the first BLHeli flashed esc to synchronous rectification.. whatever the heck that is.

Make sure to get the 35A Lightning_S. They can run BLHeli_S. In short this is a new firmware based on BLHeli but has hardware PWM making it as smooth and quiet as KISS ESCs are but still has the better thrust that BLHeli has over KISS.

yeah man, i doubt we will be the only two.. it seems like something they should of explained a bit more :D but then where is the hype in details.. heh.

i hope they get some good feed back from customers as im impressed with the red bottoms.. and i have always thought and said good thing about emax stuff. ( now since im new to RC.. did emax sell RC stuff before multirtors became the hot ticket? lots of company's in the RC are now developing and selling quad parts but seem some of them were a bit late and missed what there established name could of did for them)

even if it was not known for top shelf stuff.. but a good bang for your buck.. then they go and make red bottoms, and surprised me.. heh with a top shelf item.. guess that tells me emax is in this for the long haul not a quick buck and is investing they money they are making into R&D.

well i found another brand sporting the blheli S option.

http://www.buddyrc.com/aikon-sefm-30a-esc-with-blheli-s-program.html

i guess this is gonna be the new thing we will be seeing a lot on the forums soon.
chris.

p.s

cant sleep so been exploring the blheli S.. i guess im a month behind on this new firmware ( probably even further but hell the thread started in April so its as good as any date i guess ).
better late than never i guess. thanks again for pointing out the S version or i would be even further behind the 8ball. well back to reading, grab a cup of coffee, or your fav caffeinated beverage or a drink of your choice and start read.. some rather funny stuff pops up in a rather techi subject.

( and to think i wasted all that time on kiss 24R.. i should of been trying to get the aikon, i bet i would of got a pair. o well soon enough ill get some of these new blheli S esc.. seems the top dogs in esc are kiss 24, Aikon BoltLite F390, ZTW Premiums, DYS XM, little bees even tho i guess they are going to be showing there age soon with this new set of esc coming to market. amazing how fast this stuff changes.. its just as exciting on the FC side too. )

like the ruthless people clip.. i so forgot about this movie until seeing this clip. it was brought up because of the conversation over 8 bit vrs 32 and how some say 8bit is more than what we will ever need for a ESC, while the 32 bit guy bigger is better, and can code it in C, instead of 8bit which uses assembly.. after coding in assembly years ago and C.. id pick C any day.

ok my eyes hurt, time to try and sleep and get back to your regular schedule program:

ok after reading a tons on blheli.. i have to have fter reading the feed back.. i want to experience the silky smooth throttle. damn you kiss 24A Race edition.. i waited on you when i could of had a set of these blheli s.. o well.. by waiting for a second batch to come in i guess the code will be a bit more stable..

im glad i posted this now.. i know more about blheli in general than i did before so here is to the little man and the SEFTM on cheap hardware. LOL. much respect to the developers, you guys are kicking butt and refusing to settle for no as a answer. as the old saying goes you have to hit a wall before you know how far you can go then you can find tune your product so you hit the wall with a bit of class. :D

still not found out what emax means by there "the first BLHeli esc to synchronous rectification." i can only assume maybe it has to do with being able to take 2s to 6s? thats pretty cool.. normally it be like 3s to 4s.. or 2s to 3s.. but from 2s to 6s that some series magic happening there. heh.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some as well hopefully thanks to DYS.

I'm a little concerned though as they we are still seem to be in the beta testing stage, especially with all these 'death roll' issues. Soon though I suspect that BLHeli_S will be at a level higher than that of KISS :)

With Aikon,ZTW, DYS, LittleBee, Sunrise as well as Emax putting out BLHeli_S ESCs there will be more than enough to go around.
