End of the hobby in the USA?

You Tube is blowing up this morning regarding new regulations. Apparently the US has banned the import of ALL hobby related components, motors, batteries, ESC's, flight controllers and such.

Here are the videos I have seen this morning. Let's hope they are wrong.

Thanks @AIRFORGE.

If I had a ben franklin for every time they threatened the end of RC, I could just about afford a new radio.
While I don't think it's the true end, I definitely think it will create some unnecessary hurdles and increased expense for beginners.
It might take a lot of experienced hobbyists (with patience) to help newbs get started and continue to grow the hobby. We'll see.

OUCH! I saw a video on this this morning, but it was only UAVfutures blaming the current administration and no profs so I took as nothing serious....From what I understand our current administration has no say over it and its the FCC.

I’ve seen those videos too, but it feels like a lot of speculation right now.
There’s no clear official confirmation that all hobby components are banned.
Social media tends to amplify rumors before facts are checked.
Best to wait for an official statement before panicking.

Having said my comment, I realized that all my equipment is more than 20 years old, (some is 60) and technically illegal, but grandfathered into compliance.
If you want to fly with me, I suggest doing a systems check on yours looking for possible interference before you toss.

I am seeing the same... I mean WTF. The military has been using RC to train and strike for 80+ years. (see below) As weapons for 40+
Emax and SunnySky are two Motor Manufacturers have branches in the US. I know there are a few RC Quad board manuf. in the US, and there is SOME chip manuf. here too, (Texas Instruments, Intel, Micron, et. al) with some board Manuf. here in the U.S. in Texas (PCBway, et. al). It just doesn't feel thought through or sensible. I do understand not supporting a "no-longer an ally" but it just feels Ham-fisted.
Batteries are going to be the challenge I think.

It's been a long time since you bought a Tx. You can get a good one for around two Benjamin's
Don't need a new one, old ones work just fine except do not necessarily meet current spurious transmission requirements, but are grandfathered in.

Bruh, the government keeps forgetting that criminals by definition, are people who break the law. Realy, I don't think that if RC planes got banned we would stop flying. What would they do anyways? Arrest us for having fun?
