ESC BEC questions

OK I have never use one of these new fangled ESC's before, when it says it has BEC is there a separate connector or does it use the connector that goes to the speed control outlet and back feed power for the receiver? Also can you plug a servo in to the speed control outlet to use on a glow/gas engine? Or do they have a different style receiver for Glow/Gas?
sorry if I am asking dumb questions.

"does it use the connector that goes to the speed control outlet and back feed power for the receiver" exactly that.
A gas/glow engine doesn't have a servo type lead, to control it you will need to add a servo with a mechanical connection to the engine throttle.

If you are using a gas engine then you do not need to energy density of a LiPo at all but can get away with Dry Cell / NiCad / NiMh battery packs to give the correct Rx voltage and these are connected in the Rx Batt/Bind pins. If you wish to use a UBEC and a Lipo then the UBEC goes into the Batt/Bind position as well.

As for the throttle control YES you fit the throttle servo to the throttle pins on the Rx. On a modern Radio system the throttle hold and kill switches will provide the function to the throttle servo.

Have fun!
