So if that doesn't do it, you can try opening it up and look for any spots that have green or white corrosion and clean that off with some isopropyl alcohol, then let it dry over night in some rice..

You have opened the regulator, washed and dried it, it is excellent. Dip it 2 times with drying in Plastik 71 varnish. Your regulator will stop being afraid of water.
